BID Family Film Under The Stars
Remy, the lovable gourmet rodent-chef, and star of the movie, Ratatouille, will come to life on the giant screen – under stars, when the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) and the New Rochelle Public Library present the award-winning 2007 animated film on Thursday, August 5t, in Library Green. Ratatouille is the story of the endearing rat who is driven by his passion for fine cuisine to become a chef at the most famous restaurant in Paris is a fast-moving, hilarious romp that delights all ages. The free showing will begin at 8:45 pm at the park located at Huguenot Street and Lawton Street. Participants should bring lawn chairs or a blanket. In the event of rain or strong winds, the film will be shown in the Ossie Davis Theater, New Rochelle Public Library. Due to limited seating, complimentary tickets will be available in the library at 7:30 pm night of performance on a first-come, first-served basis. The BID Outdoor Family Film is sponsored by Monroe College.
The New Rochelle Downtown BID has been active in promoting downtown with its popular Dine Downtown Campaign, Artist Spaces Program, Summer Music on the Green, Outdoor Movies and BID Family Days. The BID constantly pursues new venues to encourage people to frequent downtown. The BID’s goals are to promote economic development, provide sanitation services, beautify public spaces, create enhanced technology services, pursue the historic restoration of building facades, and support the attraction of new and the retention of existing businesses in Downtown New Rochelle. In its eight year history, the BID’s efforts have resulted in $80 million of new, private, taxpaying downtown development.
